Anyone who knows me will know that I love giving gifts, especially to babies/children. One thing I hate though, is when the child in question ends up with about three of whatever the high street is selling at that point in time. I like nothing better than to scour the internet for more unusual presents, particularly something that is personalised in some way to that child. Here are a few of my favourites that I have either used already, or am bookmarking here for use in the future!! Perhaps some of them will come in useful for you as well :-)

I love love LOVE this idea. It's so sad when babies grow out of their little tiny clothes but you can't keep them all and, unless you may have future use for them, most will probably end up on eBay, in charity shops or worse.... the bin. *sob* Still, Faye has come up with a fabulous idea to solve that little problem, you get your memories and your child gets a fabulous fun keepsake!

Have you ever wished you could immortalise your child's favourite toy, before time/food/dribble etc. take their toll? Even if you haven't before, I bet you are now! Kathryn at Little Red Boots does just that and creates beautiful artwork for a child's room at the same time. If you've ever been stuck for an idea for a present, this one is sure to impress even the hardest to please! Now please excuse me while I order one for every child I know... I'm pretty sure my husband's brother's wife's friend has a baby that needs one! ;-)

I've used the Milly Molly Morely shop several times already, they have the most perfect, unusual baby gifts ever!! The last three babies to be born in our family (Oliver and his two newest cousins) have all had gorgeous sleep suits with their full names on and they're just beautiful. They also do gift boxes, vests, shoes, bibs and loads of other cool stuff - I can't think of anywhere better to go to make buying the baby essentials more exciting... and you know what else? Their prices are amazing!!
One final shop that I couldn't press 'post' without mentioning is Child's Own Studio. Although they're a Canadian site and therefore shipping to me (or anyone UK based) would probably be extortionate and she's also not currently accepting orders (booo!), I think the concept of this site is AMAZING. Yes, capital letters amazing. Perhaps there is a UK based site with a similar idea, I haven't looked yet... please let me know if you know of one!
Basically she makes soft toys based on children's drawings. Say there's a character that your child has drawn, maybe even several times. Child's Own Studio will actually make that drawing into a real life soft toy. I just think that must be an amazing thing to give to a child, their vision come to life!
